Musinsa terrace is a multi-cultural fashion platform which runs both off-line space and online service. As its name signifies, this place is where people and fashion brands can mingle, that is because musinsa terrace is designed and operated by MUSINSA company which represents the fashion and culture of Korea.

The space is composed with four functional zones like shop, kitchen, lounge and park to provide sensual experiences to visitors. The shop is filled with limited editions, the kitchen serves decent coffee dripped by a professional barista, the lounge is operated as a rental space for fashion brand occasions, pop-up stores and cultural exhibitions. Lastly the park which embraces those three venues architecturally, is a perfect observatory for the magnificent skyscraper of Seoul city.

Reasons for using circle motif/symbol

“Circle” was the most suitable key visual concept to link the space with fashion field. Circle implies the circulation of fashion culture, the stage for fashion and it also signifies the perfect shape. The space zoning of musinsa terrace is based on this concept shape and formed in circlular walls, in contrast with common space design which mainly segments zones horizontal vertical direction only.

There are symbols which stands for each zones. Those are transplanted from the actual floor plan. Each symbols of shop, kitchen and lounge are formed in ‘Circles with Open Edges’. This opened area implies the communication between customers and fashion brands.

The park symbol is in perfect circle shape as it architecturally cuddles the shop, kitchen and lounge. The symbols are widely used in the space itself, logo and signs. Furthermore its concepts is also applied in typeface design. musinsa terrace is repeating the same visual concept consistently through all applicable ways to adhere the identity of the brand.
